I was thoroughly chuffed when I received my birthday present from my fiancé! He’d had a photo shoot for Poppy (our daughter who was 22 months old at the time) with Jan and then chose a photo for Jan to sketch and frame. What an awesome surprise when I came home to find it hanging on the wall in our lounge!! The sketch is an amazing resemblance of Poppy and captures her features beautifully. Jan Maree photographed my grandchildren for me when they were visiting from Australia. She was fantastic with the kids and really encouraged them to be themselves resulting in photographs that show their personalities off wonderfully. They went to several locations around our house and gardens which made it hard to choose out of the photos - there were so many really good ones.
Jan Maree has been taking photographs of my family for years, starting off with the equestrian eventing scene with my daughter. She genuinely cares about the quality of her photography, and the people she works with, and we have built up a fantastic relationship over the years, so that I now call her my friend as well. The beautiful photographs she has captured for me include many equestrian shows, my daughter's cat, my horse, my grandchildren, and my son's wedding. Dear Jan, I don't often write testimonials but I just have to in this instance. The photography session the girls and I had with you was the most fun we have had on a day out in ages! I can't believe the journey was only about 100m, if that, because when you look at the images it looks like we went for miles. We just had such fun, the horses, the stables, the rocks, the butterflies. It seems like you were so in tune with everything that nature itself wanted to join in as well. I recall asking you for a set of portraits which weren't the run-of-the-mill ones I always seem to see of children, I wanted something different but which still captured the girls' personalities, and you delivered that in spades. We commissioned Jan Maree to take some photos of my mother for her 80th birthday. Jan duly collected my parents and took them to Wrights Water Gardens for the photography shoot. My parents had a wonderful time with Jan Maree. Shortly after the photos were taken my father passed away so Jan's photos are the last record of their lives together. The album Jan compiled is not a series of photos but instead an artistic story of the love they shared. We are so grateful to Jan for these albums and we will treasure them. Everyone should have some special photos and who better than Jan Maree to take them? Jan's dedication and patience is apparent as she always gets the perfect shot. (Sometimes many perfect shots, so its difficult to choose just one!). My father joked about Jan's instructions to "cuddle up"- but the result is a wonderful big picture that now hangs on my mother's wall showing my parents with their arms around each other, looking so happy and so in love after a lifetime of being together. Jan Maree has taken many photos for me. My friends on facebook recognize her work in my albums without being told. We were particularly grateful for Jan's photos recently when we lost our puppy Zora and used them for flyers to recover her.
Jan takes the most wonderful photos often without you realizing they are being taken. She is good at capturing the subject along with beautiful and/or sentimental scenery or environments. She obviously loves what she does and is passionate about achieving the best quality. She notices and appreciates the beauty in everything.
Jan gains great joy out of giving others joy through her work.

Jan took photos of our newest Baby girl. The project turned out rather differently than expected. A "just washed and blow dried" little angel greeted Jan enthusiastically and examined the photo equipment but then headed for the nearest puddle and got all her white bits all muddy. It was a sign of things to come- she still loves puddles and makes a Beeline for them at every opportunity! Jan had exceptional patience chasing our little girl around the property and taking many 'action shots'. We thought the pup would tire- but that was not to Bee although Bee had a good sleep when Jan went home! Jan probably did too. The photos of little Bee are amazing, capturing her crazy 'afro' hairdo and puppy fluff as well as her mischievous nature. She is fully grown now and it is difficult to imagine her once being so tiny so the photos are a wonderful reminder. Bee loved Jan and all the attention she got- who can argue with that? Bee says she wouldn't hesitate to have more photos taken either as it was a great experience. Thada Inglin

Thank you VERY much for our photos; Cath was blown away and we both love them. They capture the characters of Brad and Shell perfectly. The canvas and portrait have both been put in pride of place and I know we’ll enjoy looking back at them as the kids grow into adulthood. Georgia was thrilled to bits with the portrait of "Nettie" & I was over the moon!! It was the loveliest surprise and it bought tears to my eyes. We were all amazed at how beautifully you had captured the essence of Nettie & Herc there is no doubting who they are. Herc's eye in particular is him to a tee!! Both portraits are proudly displayed in the entrance so everyone can view our gorgeous equine family members!! Thanks again Carron
